The Streaming Giant Chooses Ideal Actor for Mr. 2 in the Hit Series Upcoming Installment
The Secret Organization is geared up to play a huge role in Netflix’s upcoming season of One Piece, even if the real showdown won’t unfold until season 3, and a beloved, popular member has recently been selected.
Netflix announced recently that Cole Escola will appear in the One Piece season 3 cast and will portray Bon Clay. This character has the ability to morph into an exact copy of any person they’ve touched with their main hand. The actor, who is identifies as non-binary and goes by they/them, will play a rendition of that figure re-envisioned as non-binary identifying, rather than as a drag queen, in the real-life adaptation, unlike the original manga and animated series.
Escola is joined by multiple recently announced actors tasked with bringing Baroque Works to reality, including leader Mr. 0, brought to life by the seasoned performer, Sophia Anne Caruso as Miss Goldenweek, and a familiar face, who also joins the cast as King Nefertari Cobra of the desert kingdom.
Though Bon Clay is a key figure of the group, the persona won’t appear until One Piece the upcoming installment. Given season 2 set to cover the Little Garden arc, this signals a notable change in the timing of their first appearance, one that could indicate further changes to the narrative framework.
Escola’s blend of excellent comedic sense and deep sensitivity makes them a standout choice for the character. Besides their recent voice performance in the animated feature Boys Go to Jupiter, they garnered significant recognition and several accolades for creating and performing in the successful stage production Oh Mary!, highlighting the range they’ll contribute to one of One Piece’s most celebrated figures.
The streaming service’s real-life One Piece program is set to return for its season two on March 10th, 2026.
