President Trump Calls Loved Ones of Attacked Military Soldiers to White House
Former President Donald Trump announced on the weekend that he has invited the loved ones of a Guard member tragically killed last week to attend the executive mansion.
He noted that he conversed with her parents and they were “deeply grieving”.
Details on the Devastating Event
US army specialist Sarah Beckstrom, 20, was lost her life in a violent incident on Wednesday in DC.
Her comrade, Andrew Wolfe, twenty-four years old, continues receiving treatment in grave state.
Vigils across West Virginia have taken place in their honor.
White House Offer
The president said he’s talked about a White House visit for the families of both individuals of the state Guard.
“I told them: ‘When you’re ready, because that’s a hard experience, visit the White House. We’re going to pay tribute to Sarah,” the president told the press. “And similarly with him, whether he recovers or not.”
Community Response
Attendees assembled over the weekend at a local school in the state to pay respects to Beckstrom.
Both they had been fulfilling duties with the military unit as part of the president’s government program to support public safety in DC.
Paying Tribute to Sarah Beckstrom
“She was the individual that teachers wished for. She behaved with calm resilience, a bright grin and a upbeat demeanor that inspired people around her,” Jarrod Hankins, the head of her previous school, stated to the press. “She was caring, compassionate and always ready to support those in need.”
Memorial plans for Sarah are still being arranged.
Judicial Steps and Government Changes
Officials have accused a twenty-nine-year-old suspect with a charge of homicide and charges of assault with intent to kill while armed.
The event led the administration to pause asylum applications and cease providing visas to holders of travel documents.
Status of the Airman
Wolfe, a native of the city, began his service in February 2019 and is a graduate of Musselman high school, according to the news agency.
He continues to receive treatment and is “in a critical fight”, the state’s governor Morrisey said on Fox News Channel’s The Sunday Briefing.
Attorney general the attorney general told Fox News Sunday that she also intended to meet with the family.
Legacy of Beckstrom
Sarah, from Summersville, completed her education from her high school in June 2023 and began her service not long after, working as a MP with excellence, per the West Virginia National Guard.
“She had a lot of kindness and she absolutely had courage,” the governor addressed the crowd at the service. “Though her time ended too soon, she has made an impact that’s going to last forever.”
