LA Erupts in Celebration as Dodgers Secure Second World Series Championship
The City of Angels experienced citywide celebrations after the Los Angeles Dodgers clinched a thrilling seven-game World Series championship. Fans worldwide united with Angelenos in jubilation, marking the initial time in a quarter-century that a franchise has achieved consecutive championships.
Victory Parade Attracts Enormous Crowds
Local celebrations included a downtown parade on the morning of the parade, a ticketed rally at the team's home stadium, and impromptu gatherings throughout the city.
Social media videos show thousands of Angelenos packing city center avenues, many displaying handmade banners and Dodger flags. The squad was seen riding high on a double-decker bus through the masses, raising the Commissioner’s trophy high.
“My focus is already about the next championship we’re going to achieve this,” the star player stated through an interpreter.
The procession path concluded at the stadium, where the team walked out to Kendrick Lamar’s “Not Like Us,” with DJ Mustard providing music and the artist cruising a Pacific blue classic car around the field.

Festivities started prior to the procession, with Dodgers fans setting off fireworks in the roads of the city center on Sunday night.
Yoshinobu Yamamoto, named the MVP of the championship, spoke plainly about the win.
“Losing is not an option,” he stated. “I adore this team. This city means everything to me.”

However, Mark Walter received a less warm welcome at the rally. Recordings from the gathering appear to show Walter taking the stage to a mix of cheers and boos, with jeers punctuating his address.
The World Series acted as a bright spot in what has been a challenging year for the city. An estimated 225,000 people showed up to the championship parade last year, and according to team member one athlete, supporters this year showed as much if not more enthusiasm.
“It seems it’s almost double from last year,” he said. “These fans are crazy. It’s truly amazing to be a part of this.”
