Football Analyst Sutton Takes On Singer Olly Murs in Premier League Predictions

The Gunners' ten-match winning streak came to an end by Sunderland prior to the global break, but will the Premier League frontrunners bounce back against local foes Spurs this weekend?

"{I feel like Arsenal are miles ahead of Tottenham at the moment but Spurs manager Thomas Frank will have a plan for this match," remarked soccer expert Chris Sutton.

"The Spurs manager will attempt to neutralize Arsenal, who have not always been at their sparkling finest this campaign - but Mikel Arteta's side usually still manage to win."

Sutton is forecasting results for all 380 Premier League games this term, versus artificial intelligence, readers and a variety of guests.

In the twelfth round, he takes on performer Olly Murs, who is a United supporter.

Murs' new album, the new release, is available on Friday.

Soccer and Family Experiences

Murs is a skilled soccer player as well as a successful singer and has been a star of multiple Soccer Aid games over time - but he is not intending a serious return as a player.

"{I recently played in a charity game the other evening for a friend of mine," he explained. "The side was trailing 3-1 when I came off in the second half, and they proceeded to win 4-3, so you can interpret that what you will!

"I still love football, but I hurt my knee a few years ago and it even now hasn't fully recovered. I wish I could play more but the uncertainty of the game means it's too dangerous for me in my career to do it seriously again.

"Additionally I am forty-one now, and we are not everyone is Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very happy not playing football and I am gearing up for the time that my daughter or boy chooses to play instead."

The singer and his wife his partner have two children, Madison and Albert, and he is ready to follow in his father's footsteps by becoming their manager.

"I won't push football on our kids but I've previously told my wife that if they do get the bug for it then I will have to go and get my manager qualifications - and I will likely be coaching their weekend soccer team," he added.

"I observed my nephews play a lot, and I really got into it, and I obviously owned a soccer team for a while too.

"My father coached with us when I was a child, which is probably where I inherited it. He managed our team for several years and had a wonderful time with it. That could be the future for me as well, and I am excited to it!"

Top Division Predictions

Weekend, 22 November

  • Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT

The Blues might have to wait a bit longer for their star's return from fitness issues but their attack is now stronger with Joao Pedro and Liam Delap both back fit.

In my opinion this game will be quite tight, however. The Clarets are disciplined and their only at Turf Moor losses so far have been against the Reds and Arsenal.

It suggests a one-all tie to me, but I am actually going to choose Chelsea to win narrowly for what would be their third consecutive Premier League win in a row.

Sutton's prediction: 1-2

Olly's prediction: The Blues will be superior. 1-3

Artificial intelligence's outlook: 0-2

Bournemouth have lost their previous couple games - although both of them were away - but they got thoroughly beaten by Aston Villa last time out which surprised me.

In contrast, West Ham secured back-to-back victories before the hiatus and, although both of those fixtures were at home, they do look competitive again.

The Hammers' only away victory this campaign came at Forest in August, when West Ham boss Nuno Espirito Santo was previously that team's manager.

So, what exactly do I go with here - can the Hammers extending their run under their manager, or the home side bouncing back?

I am going to choose the Cherries, because I think what happened against Villa was a blip.

The pundit's forecast: 2-0

Olly's prediction: Bournemouth are performing strongly but West Ham have improved under Nuno. 2-2

Brentford were considered one of the frontrunners for the drop before the season started, but they have surprised a several observers under Keith Andrews and are in fine fettle with three wins in their last four games.

My son told me to select Bees forward Igor Thiago in my fantasy soccer team a few weeks ago and, unfortunately, I ignored the advice.

Thiago will likely score again on Saturday but I am still not going to pick him or back Brentford at Brighton's ground.

They have not had great fortune on the road this term, and Brighton are always strong at home. Brentford will try to hit them on the counter-attack but I feel the home manager's side pose much more of a danger.

Sutton's prediction: 2-1

The singer's view: This could be a match where you expect there is going to be a lot of goals but it actually proves to be rather tight. 1-1

The computer's prediction: 2-1

  • Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT

This is a huge fixture for the Cottagers, who have lost five of their past six games.

Fulham have have plenty of talent in their team but it nonetheless feels like they could be dragged into a drop zone battle.

As for Sunderland, well they are the surprise package of the top flight campaign so far.

Their performance in the two-all tie with the Gunners last time out was superb. We've not seen anyone else disrupt the North London side like that this term, and they were fully competitive for them.

The logical choice would be to support the Black Cats here, because they are clearly capable of disrupting Fulham up too and, the previous occasion they were in this part of London, they defeated the Blues at the end of last month.

But I am not choose that. Rather, I truly need to continue going against the away team with my predictions. I am taking a lot of responsibility for their good outcomes because they clearly enjoy to prove me wrong.

Looking at Fulham's home record, the sole team they have lost to is the league leaders. Marco Silva's side will be extremely desperate for a positive outcome, so I am going to say they will secure three points.

The expert's prediction: 1-0

The guest's prediction: I know the visitors are doing well and also that the hosts are on a poor streak... but they have nonetheless been decent at home this campaign. 2-0

AI's outlook: 2-0

It is a hard one to predict. The Reds have lost seven of their past 10 matches in every tournament, but might they be one of the teams who benefit from the {international break|
