A high-ranking Russian army officer has been fatally wounded following an detonation in Moscow, according to official statements.
The attack happened on Monday morning when an explosive device placed beneath a vehicle detonated, causing the death of Lieutenant General Fanil Sarvarov.
Sarvarov held the position of the head of the armed forces' department for training operations.
The committee stated that one theory under investigation suggests the possible involvement of Ukrainian intelligence services. So far, Ukraine has offered no public response.
